Mura Masa & A$AP Rocky sind „Love$ick“ // Audio

„Rocky was actually in London for a couple of days and I wanted to make him feel like I was taking the collaboration seriously, so I booked us in to Abbey Road, Studio 2, and we met up there for a couple of hours and he did his thing. It was a hell of a good time hanging out in such a legendary space with him, very surreal. The track originally was about sex and how I was feeling after a particularly empty encounter with a friend told through a kind of twisted-pop, calypso, hip hop dance track. Rocky kind of ran with that and took it to this lovelorn, exotic place. He totally injected his energy into it“, so erzählt mura masa über die Traum-Kollabo. Die im vorigen Jahr erschienene EP „Someday Somewhere“ des UK-Producers beinhaltete den Track „Love$ick Fuck„, der nun mit einem A$AP-RockyFeature veredelt wurde. Die Line „And now we industry lovers, they makin’ enemies of us / I mean sometimes when we in public, they drainin‘ the synergy from us.“ lässt sich schnell in Richtung Kendall Jenner interpretieren, die den Gerüchten nach derzeit Rockys Bett teilt. Wann man jedoch einen Nachfolger für Rockys „At.Long.Last.A$AP“ etwas von sich hören lässt, steht noch in den Sternen – aber zumindest wurde Lenny Kravitz mit Rocky im Studio gesehen. Klingt verheißungsvoll.

„Yeah, I heard she got a man, homie
Yeah, he wanna lay the hands on me
But he should see the way she dance on me
Yeah, wishing I ain’t had no pants on me“
