The Doppelgangaz – Parts Unknown (EP Download)

Die Doppelgangaz haben Wort gehalten: Kurz nach Ankündigung wird seit heute die neue EP „Parts Unknown„, der quasi-Nachfolger von „Peace Kehd„, auf Bandcamp zum „Free Download“ angeboten. Die EP umfasst acht Tracks, zwei davon sind treuen Lesern des Message schon bekannt: Zur einen Singleauskopplung „Scintilla“ wurde ein Video gedreht, die andere mit dem Titel „Jail Weight“ fällt besonders durch einen Gastauftritt von Jim Jones auf.  Die Namensgebung des neuen Projektes erfolgte auch nicht zufällig, dient doch „Parts Unknown“ als Metapher für die eigene Karriere, wie Matter Ov Fact erklärt:

„Parts Unknown“ represents all overlooked areas that aren’t regarded as hot spots. We started with no connects, no backing and no idea how to infiltrate the game. We represent those who make shit happen with whatever tools you have, even if you have to create those tools yourself.“

Unrecht hat die eine Hälfte der Band mit diesem Statement sicherlich nicht. Manchmal gilt der alte Lehrsatz, dass sich Qualität am Ende immer durchsetzt, eben doch noch. Und diese stimmt auch auf „Parts Unknown„, eine mehr als passable EP der Doppelgangaz, die auch einige Überraschungen aufbietet.
