Die Mello Music Group re-released Mr. Lifs Klassiker „I Phantom“ am 27.11. – und verschenkt, um die Zeit bis Freitag zu überbrücken und ein bisschen Werbung zu machen, den ein oder anderen Track daraus. Für heute wurde „Post Mortem“ ausgewählt, eine EL-P Produktion, auf der sich Mr. Lif, EL-P, Jean Grae (vielleicht die beste Frau ever am Mic) und Akrobatik einem Thema widmen: Dem Weltuntergang, verursacht durch eine atomare Explosion. Dieses Geschehen wird aus vier Perspektiven dargestellt. Das klingt bei Mr. Lif so „On how they started thinking wishfully/Guided by fear I’m semi-aware/Please, is anybody out there?“, bei EL-P so „And now my name is merely left/Last second my brain exists before the final flash/The emotion of pretty details of a life I had passed“, Jean Grae wählt diese Worte „Convert to atheism denounce god pronounce religion dead/Faith in nothing trace my wrists with razors/I refuse to wait for the blaze to erase my spirit/Death – faced with it – run to it – not from it/Swallow all the pills in the medicine cabinet“ und Akrobatik folgende: „I thought I’d be alone when they finally came to get me/But nobody gotta miss me because they all comin with me“. Grandioser Track, mit dem Mr. Lif 2002 den Schlusspunkt seines Albums setzte.
